Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Whiteboard System In Schools

    Hi All,

Been doing a bit of work for my old primary school the last week, before the summer they got the interactive whiteboard systems installed before the summer break. The company that installed them and trained the teachers are over an hour away from the school, and since I'm only a couple of minutes they asked me to help them out with some problems they have been having. Most things were very simple but there was a few I wasn't completely sure of, such as using some aspects of the system, as I've never used the system before. Got me thinking though, does anyone know how I would go about training in the installation and use of the systems?
As I said the only company that deals with them are over an hour away, and there is a couple of schools within 20 minutes of me that I'd have a few connections in so I could possibly pick up a few handy school contracts.
Has anyone any experience in these systems or training in them?

    Thanks

Sorry to state the obvious here, but would you not get in touch with the manufacturer or supplier? See if they have an official website or forum for help or a contact.

Do you know the "make" of the boards? Try googling that.

Only thing I can think of, seeing that they're pretty new.

I've been looking through the Promethean website, the company that supply the software, but can't find anything on their site as regards what I'm looking for. From what I can see the training courses they offer only extend to teachers, although I suppose if the equipment were already in place these courses might be enough i guess

    i like your thinking OP.
I support 2 schools that use these whiteboards. Teachers got v little training on how to use the software.
You could also look at providing training on how to properly use the whiteboards. All I see teachers using them for is just as fancy whiteboards when really they can do so much more when used in conjunction with other programs.

i have used these whiteboards before and yes they are good but most teachers can barely turn them on and then only use them for a break from the students.

you should try and see can you get an hour to yourself late on in the school to mess around with one.
they are quite straightforward and if you are anyway proficient with computers etc you should be able to work one after an hour or two.

half of it is the software you can use with it, like a pc its no good without any programs on it or if it isnt connected for broadband.
