mortgage options?

hi there my fixed rate is up at xmas and the small print says it will go to variable rate thereafter. will the bank contact me with rate options ? or do i have to contact them. if i wanted to keep my payments the same and reduce the term (which i should be able to do as my interest has been very high) how do i go about…

Depends on who you bank with but it is possible that your account will just automatically rollover to the standard variable without you being contacted.

If you want to be sent a list of rate options or to reduce your term just send then a letter instructing them to do so and make sure it is signed by all loan parties.
