Won't be going to Germany for his break by the sound of his anti-German rants/jests this morning from the Kilkenomics(?) thing that McWilliams has going on.

Must have found his old wartime comic collection.

Off next week for a "well earned" rest? Maybe Marzie gave him the keys to the condo in Tuscany.

I felt like emailing to say the Ardennes and the Black Forest are great holiday destinations.

Good program today. (Who was the ex-trader with the US accent?)

Interesting discussion of the working habits of Germans .... and then Pat tells us he's off for a few days R&R. Mote & Eye come to mind

Was that Max (?) who was telling us to stop buying coco cola products and to buy silver. He was class.

I love the way that Pat labeled McWilliams et al as 'mavericks'. He just doesn't get it.

You get a group of real, unbiased, independent economists together and they will always agree, the system is poked. All the debts (bad bets) are being socialised while the profits privatised. It's unsustainable.

There is nothing maverick about being able to see where the fault lies and to honestly articulate the facts.

I think this is our man

I wonder did he tell Pat what he thought of RTE:
Ireland should be smart about this. Not walk around with their head in the clouds believing anything that comes out of the mouth of the captured press in Ireland, like RTÉ. Which is a complete functionary of the banking establishment and has no independent view whatsoever.

oh pat well knows max's opinions.

he was meant to be on some pannel a while back. cant remember whether it was the late late or pats show itself but when the researcher asked max prior to going on what he was going to say they hung up and never called him again as they were scared shyteless of being sued !

the lads been getting great milage out of that in places like the last word on todayfm and the like ever since.

    :):):)

thats what all that joking about "allegedly" was about earlier on in the interview.

TBH im kinda gobsmacked he was on this show at all.

Thought Richard Crowley had done well the past few mornings... does he normally do radio?

Agree 100%, he's done well. Prior to PrimeTime he used to the This Week radio programme on Sunday lunchtime.

Ah of course...knew I'd heard him on before somewhere other than Primetime.
Breath of fresh air compared to Dungan... and a very real contender for the Kenny crown perhaps...

Don't forget, himself and David Hanly made a first class presenting duo on Morning Ireland for several years.

Typical teacher.. like Mary O'Rourke.. shout loud enough and that makes your point right... I'd just like to know why the State is paying her 70k a year.. She is working full time in DCU still ? And she was seconded to RTE for 4 days this week to walk around Portlaoise?

I sent an email to Pat Kenny a few weeks ago wondering about how she found the time to do her lecturing work and then her subsequent Senate "work" and still find the time to be a reporter for his show. Obviously he didn't read it out on air.

It has been a pleasure to keep tuned in this week for Crowley. Usually when Pat's away Myles Dungan wafts creepily into his seat like a warm fart.

Yeah Crowley is much better than Myles... He's like a dog with a bone as well.. He's been really strong on pushing guests for answers..

Very impressed with Richard Crowley, where was this guy all summer when we had to endure Myles and Miriam?

    Watch your back Pat!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,978 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Richard Crowley has stood in previously I think but many years ago, before Tom McGurk used to do the summer holls.

+1. R.C. has been excellent, he has brought the show back to basics, solid current affairs. PK has let the show drift from it's current affairs duties over the last few years.

I would like to see RC full time in this slot now.
