Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The OH has an 02 ML 270CDI with about 70k mls on it. The reason we went for an ML is that we wanted a 7 seater.

    Problems to date:
    • Air Bag light, fixed under guarantee but was spendy.
    • Fuel Gauge doesent work properly. I have to remove/insert the fuse to get it to show how much fuel is in the car. Otherwise once its empty the guage stays there.
    • Instead of a handbrake it has a foot brake. This snapped and had to be fixed.
    • There is a small pump that you use to get diesel flowing again if you run out of fuel and this broke.
    • Seat belt in Middle/Middle seat got stuck when seat was forward and the seat had to be dismantled to fix this. I think the problem was caused by a bit of plastic that should have stopped the belt retracting all the way into the seat breaking off. (Happened day of the NCT so failed).
Bit of a boat, nice smooth ride, but seats aren't the most comfortable/supportive for a long drive.

Otherwise than the above it sailed through 3 NCT's (except the seat belt problem) and the engine has never given any problems. As an MPV its great in terms of space and comfort.

Thanks fors that info. Can you turn the airbags off in the front? passenger side - for a new born car seat?

Dont think so. I've never come across a switch/option to do it.

That model ML was not known for being a great car, they were poorly built (In the US I think) and suffered from reliability issues. I would avoid to be honest

    +1

One of the worst interiors in terms of build I've seen this side of some Korean sh1tbox.

I know someone with a 270 CDI and they havent had any problems though. Theirs is the facelift model. If it was me I'd be looking towards an X5...
