Is rent supplement backdated

A friend of mine was receiving rent supplement in Mayo and moved to Galway. She contacted SWA in Galway in advance of moving but was told to wait until she was in new house, which she did and filled out all relevant forms. It took 2 months and intervention from a TD to get the council housing dept to call to her house to…

A friend of mine was receiving rent supplement in Mayo and moved to Galway. She contacted SWA in Galway in advance of moving but was told to wait until she was in new house, which she did and filled out all relevant forms.

It took 2 months and intervention from a TD to get the council housing dept to call to her house to confirm she was living there and another 1 month before she received a weeks rent supplement.

However she has not received the rent supplement for the previous 3 months.
Will she receive this.
