Monopod part help

While shooting on the beach yesterday, I lost the rubber foot off the bottom of my monopod. Damn thing stuck deep in the sand and when I noticed it was gone I couldn't find it again. I've tried searching the web to find a new one but couldn't find any results, unless they've got a big spike in the bottom which isn't what I want.

Anybody know where I could obtain one of these from?

Just cut a hole in an eraser or something similar, its not really an essential part it just stops it slipping.

I'll give Gunns a shout so.

The rubber stop was useful in the sand, until it got stuck and lost.

It meant that the monopod only sank to about 1ft deep, while without it, it was sinking to nearly 2ft. :eek:

I have a broken one of these monopods (screw is fuct) so your welcome to anything off it. It has one of the rubber feet your looking for.

This is probably a whole new topic but what would people see as an advantage of a monopod over a tripod? I just don't see any...

Monopods are smaller and lighter... designed for portability and may be better suited for certain types of photography e.g. sport where you want some stability but quicker movements.
