    Hello everybody.

I'll be leaving for a month (from september 27th) in Sligo to improve my english. I'm looking for all kind of activities to meet people (walking, cycling, riding, music,...)

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks

It sounds like you will be around for Sligo Live:

There is a lot going on around the town for that.

Plenty of places to cycle. A place in Strandhill used to hire out bikes, I'm not sure if that was just for the summer though. You could also try surfing at Strandhill.

For horseriding there are a lot of places:

    That's just a few.

Thanks for your answers, but as I said my intention is to meet people so I'm more interested in join a group of people to do things with them. Maybe there is a group of people that like going for a walk on sunday mornings or doing sport on a park twice a week, or maybe there is some dance class that I could join for a month.

Or maybe there is someone that would like a partner to go for a walk or that would like to show me the city. I'm open to any suggestion.

    Thanks again

Markree stables do group adult riding lessons on a monday night. http://www.markreestables.com/
There is a sligo walking group who go on walks on saturday mornings, I can't find anything online about them. There is also sligo mountaineering club, http://sligomountaineeringclub.org/

theres a couple of cycling clubs around the town who do spins a couple of days a week, including two or three on a sunday morning depending on your level. one of them spins from memory might be girl/women only a well. one of the sites are www.innisfreewheelers.com, although fully recomend you bring along a light rain jacket for this time of year. for some of them all you have to do is turn up.

There are always lots of posters in the library advertising different groups and clubs. So it might be an idea to call in there.

    Surf club in Strandhill.
    Karate club in the Crib.
    Kickboxing in St. Josephs.
