Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Started last May for season 2 (which aired at this time in the States). So best guess - May 2014.

Started Season 3 Tuesday night on TNT in the states. Great opening episode! I like the new additions and it's good to see that
Cliff is still pulling the strings from behind bars and Ryland is out of prison and will no doubt raise his head again before long! Also great to see that the spirit of JR is watching over everything and he's very much there in spirit by the looks of it. Nice touch with the first scene with Bobby at the family grave patch. It set the season up nicely given how it's likely he and John Ross will be at loggerheads.
You really jsut have to hand it to the show for being bloody good, stright forward entertaing soap!

How did Bobby or Sue Ellen not recognise that Nicolas guy? He was meant to have been raised with Elena. Considering the fact she was in the room with him you would have thought they would have guessed who he was?

Season 3 is broken up into 2 mini seasons so TV3 will probably start it in May an show the 2 of them together.

In this era of Downloading-I would say a lot will locate it on line and hardly wait 2-3 months. A bit of a joke-the wait.

Just caught up on the first 2 episodes of the new season - as squonk says above it's just such an entertaining show and the unfortunate loss of Larry Hagman doesn't seem to have affected the quality thus far.

    I just love the twists/cliffhangers -
so Ryland is working for the CIA now?? The scene with the mother and the Cartel boss was brilliant though! :p

Anyone know if the episode on monday the 31st will be repeated in the next week? My dad accidentally deleted it on the sky box and it can't be recovered since the box is too old and doesn't have that feature. I can't find it for him on the 3 player either.

    Pamela should have shot Emma

Harris's mother is the show's saving grace for me

I thought she was going to shoot her too! The threesome was unexpected! :)

I was very surprised by that :D Was Pamela's plan to try and kill herself while she was in the room (i.e have the effects of the drugs kick in at at that time) with John Ross and Emma? It felt like she was setting them up for her death  I was really hoping for a massive bitch fight between the two women.

I thought the fire was a bit lame to be honest.

Why is there a gap in the series? Such as now?

TNT like doing this with shows - it's to do with ratings, scheduling, avoiding NBA playoffs.

Melinda Clarke will guest-star as Tracey McKay, one of Bobby Ewing’s girlfriends from the original series http://tvline.com/2014/06/23/dallas-season-3-cast-melinda-clarke-bobby-girlfriend-tracey-mckay/

Good kick off episode. This show always delivers really.

Two episodes in. Motoring along. A difference I see between this and the original-a bit more whodunit . Obviously influenced by Revenge. Im also surprised Bobby has let an innocent Barnes rot in jail. He has changed.

Elena wakes up and Christopher will come out of the shower :p

I must admit this is my guilty pleasure.. like most people my age (almost 40) I grew up watching this by default as my mam watched it, but I remember watching the reruns on RTE one summer and being hooked.

I'm slowly working through the complete original series again but I've been impressed how they've kept the original feel while updating it at the same time - even with the loss of Larry Hagman/JR. They have a great veteran cast in the original actors (Sue Ellen, Cliff, Bobby and the occasional guest star) but Mitch Pileggi is great as well and the new generation can hold their own too.

Hopefully it continues for a good while yet.

I think the cartel thing has gone on too long. Dallas never did politics or violence that well and this is true here. I still enjoy it but its gone on too long. We need back to the Barnes/Ewing feud. Too bad cliff didnt have a son-Rebecca doesnt cut it for me but she is easy on the eye!

Genuinely shocked. Never realised the ratings were so bad. Such a pity I was looking forward to what this next season had in store for us.

Ah I am pissed off about that news. I thought that Season 3 was really good.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,844 ✭✭✭py2006

    Ah no way. :(

In fairness, I am not surprised. The ratings have been woeful.

Aw crap! I genuinely can't believe that! I'm utterly shocked! This season did drag a bit with the cartel but it's now in an excellent place for a season 4.

Aside from that, I think they did a much better job of the classic soap thing than Revenge or it's ilk is currently doing. I found Dallas to be infinitely more watchable as the characters seemed better overall. I do know they have a rich history to pull from though. Personally, talking TNT, I'd sooner have seen Falling Skies die to save Dallas. I'm not a saop fan per se but I genuinely looked forward to Dallas in a way I don't look forward to Revenge anymore.

On another note, perhaps the death of Larry Hagman was a contributory factor to the death of the show. JR was a huge draw though I think anyone who stuck with the show could see hat they did an excellent job of carrying on despite the abrupt loss of one of TV's great characters.

    RIP.

Though on mature reflection the drug cartel story line was shyte. I still have great affection for the show but if its saved by another network (which I doubt) then the writing needs to up its game.
