Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I would take him back as assistant at united.good coach but doesnt seem to be up to much as a manager.

Wasnt he banned for 6 months anyway? Couldnt expect him to keep the job in those circumstances like

Might be the best assistant manager in the game but it looks like he isn't up to the top job.

Seems like a good second banana. Not cut out for being the main man.

He was a rubbish manager for Portugal in the nineties, a rubbish manager for Real Madrid, and fairly dissapointing as manager for Portugal this time around.

He only ever showed some sort of promise when he managed South Africa.

Seems to be a great number two though, so hopefully he'll establish himself again as a great assistant.

I'd take him back at united, though he really wasn't going to be able to stay in the job after the recent shenanigans was he.

This bloke is an assistant manager at most. He's just not up to the main job!

    Mke him Fergusons successor please.

I'd love him to come back to United. Personally I think he's just been unlucky with the jobs he has had. Portugal had a fundamentally flawed team that just didn't have any balance. He was barely the manager of Real Madrid and Makelele was sold over his strong objections.

I'd love to have him back at United, perfect foil to Fergie I think.

Yeah, but would you want him as manager??

He is a good foil to Ferguson to be fair. I'd say he'll end up back there alright.

would love to see him back at OT, perfect for him to remain as no.2 when Fergie goes to ensure less upheaval

I doubt he'll return to United, unless it's in a different capacity. If I recall, Fergie didn't replace him when he went to Madrid and he just slotted back in after his season at Madrid. I couldn't see Fergie demoting Phelan to bring him back.

Pffft!!! Phelan is only there as the designated staff member to talk to the BBC. :P

I dont think Fergie will bring him back, he brought him back once already and id be surprised if he did it again. Phelan worked hard and bided his time to get the job. Fergie has full faith in Phelan now. Whos to say Queiroz wouldnt p!ss off again once a managers job became available? Dont get me wrong, id love to see him back at United, hes a great coach and great at spotting and nuturing young talent. He played a major role in Ronaldos development at United and the rest of the young players. I think he will continue being a manager, but he may need to start out at a smaller club again and work back up, maybe back in Portugal.
