I wonder if anybody can help. I have a situation in work that my supervisor has basically been bullying me over a complaint I made to her. My complaint was about another employee that she is friends with. Since then I have been overloaded with work and was called in and warned by the manager that if my work did not improve I would be subject to disciplinary. As I was in fear of my job I decided not to say anything to the Manager as to how the supervisor was treating me which in time has lead me to a suspension. I have since gone sick due to the stress of it all and don't know where to turn for advice. I have spoken to a union and they will take my money but will not represent me for 8 weeks even then they said that they would not deal with my current problem as I had this before joining the union.

Does anybody know who I can go to next for help as the company has stopped paying my salary.

The first thing I’d suggest would be record everything in a diary – times, places, who was there and what, was said etc.

The second thing would be check your contract. Do your terms of employment allow for (paid) sick leave – if they do, and your medically certified as sick by a Doctor, your employer has to pay you.

If not, you can claim some payment from the S/W.

Did you get paid for the suspension you mentioned, and what was the reason your employer gave for the suspension?

With regard to the Union, I have never heard of any Union enforcing a lead in time before they will represent you. Is the employemtn unionised? I would suggest you approach someone higher up the union food chain, failing that you could contact a solicitor who specialises in employment law (but don’t use Pinnacle – they are the employers mob).

Take note of everything! Dates, events, actions etc.

Check out this: Citizens Info on Workplace Bullying

You can fight without a Union, but it's more difficult. Best of luck!
