anyone have any experience with multifuel boiler stove? would appreciate recommendation with brand regarding efficiency and quality

we look around different shops and hubby is looking for something that could heat up all our radiators we have 10 radiators and 8 of them are double radiators. shops told us that double radiators are equivalent to 1.5 or 2 radiators so we need a stove that could heat up around 20 radiators.

here the shops reccomendation and would appreciate any inputs on this or if there's any other brand and model that any could suggest would be appreciated

are any of these stoves really efficient and is it worth the money compared to oil and open fire?

    thanks and regards

    Hi..
We have a Hercules 30B in our house, without counting it's feeding about 20+ rads. We've found it excellant heats the whole house ~2800sq feet 1.5 story. It has a large firebox but we find that once you start with one great big fire, a few logs will keep it burning well, actually we often have to let it go out as the house is too warm..

You can't really compare them to oil as with oil you are paying for the convenience of automatic timing and no carrying to/from the burner.

There is no comparison to an open fire... A stove will be about 7-8 times more efficient at heat production and when not in use you will beable to close the dampers and no heat loss up the open chimney..

If you're upgrading I'd also recomment rad stats, these will close off individual rads once their room is at temp, saves fuel
