Going to Stereosonic for a bit of fun and to see Tiesto.

I'm in Ireland over Christmas/New Year and get back three days after Weezer play Perth. Absolutely gutted as they're very high on my 'to see' list :( I'd say it's very likely they'll play the Blue Album as I think they've done it at other places.

The Big Day Out is yet again a joke. The Chilis haven't done anything decent since I saw them at Slane back in the day and The Killers are now just meh. Nothing else of interest in the line up but I'm sure Soundwave will once again blow it out of the water when it's announced next month.

Strong rumours of the Stone Roses headlining Future Music so that'll be done, and I've got tickets for Mumford & Sons in October.

Looks like im booking Weezer so .:D

Yeah I have a ticket for Mumford and Sons the
    Friday night I think.

Roses would be nice to see live although GG Ian Browns voice is shot to ****.

Was at Flight of the Conchords last week, hadnt seen much of them before but was a good laugh in the end.

Whens Soundwave likey to be announced?
Dont like the idea of camping at Southbound although I would like to see the Flaming Lips

Do you have a music website where you get rumours and stuff?
Iv been using inthemix but its pretty ****!

No specific site, I follow a few music accounts on twitter which can be hit and miss. I saw the Roses rumour on a few of them though.

Soundwave is meant to be announced mid-August according to the bloke who organises it. Blink 182 are heavily linked as a headliner as they've already said they'll be in Oz around Feb.

Weezer tickets for Melbourne sorted. Small venue, outdoor gig. Could not be happier!

I was reasoning that the Stone Roses were going to see how the UK and Ireland gigs went before committing to Australia. I think they will get over considering the positive sales and feedback so far.

I would agree there saw them in Slane in 92 supporting GNR saw them again in the Park not so good.

Stone Roses and Prodigy headlining Future Music is a bit of an oxymoron.

Really wish the Roses were doing their own gig as the rest of the lineup is either meh or utter shit.

Tickets sorted for the Frames in Melbourne and the Stone Roses in Brisbane and Melbourne. Getting to see them play live twice was a good excuse to visit another city.

Agree about the Future Music line up - not a huge amount outside the Roses to interest me. Also, no time gap for them to do smaller, individual shows in each city.

Muse announced for November/December, tickets on sale next week for a cool $133 (plus fees). Birds of Tokyo supporting is helping me justify forking out for it.

Imagine Dragons play Enmore in Sydney in October. Tickets go on sale this Wednesday (24th) for a very reasonable $67.50.

Contemplating heading back to the Bridgetown Blues Festival this year. (3hrs south of Perth) Went a few years ago and had an absolute ball. $189 for a weekend ticket is good value too.

    .

Pretty surprised to see Ghost in that lineup. Hopefully they'll do a solo date since the only other band on there of any in interest to me is Pearl Jam.

Bruce Springsteen announced to play Australia and NZ next year.

Once again, Perth reinforces its title of most expensive city in the Southern Hemisphere, $230 for a standing ticket, ranges down to $130 for seating.

Perth Arena, 7th Feb. I don't know the other dates

Edit: Tickets on sale, 9am, 26th August from Ticketek

Went to see Bruce when he was in Sydney a while ago - he was immense, fantastic gig.
I'd love to see him in the hunter - but getting there and back is such a mare

Saw him twice last time out and would like to go again. Would be nice to make a weekend out of it up in the Hunter Valley but will probably be an expensive weekend!

The national have announced a tour for 2014
    Price for Sydney $140! http://www.sydneyoperahouse.com/whatson/the_national_2014.aspx
    Price for the O2 39Euro ($60)!

  • Registered Users Posts: 588 ✭✭✭laoisforliam

    The prices are ridiculous.

They are playing in Belvoir in Perth also and there is no way i'll miss it but handing over so much, for myself and the missus, is a stinger.

Hopefully get some decent support acts. Think they had The Walkmen supporting the last time they played in Perth. Id settle for that again to be sure.

What websites do you use for searching gigs in Australia?

I'm there in November on holidays and wouldn't mind catching a few music shows if it suits. Been checking Ticketmaster.com.au but there seems to be verylittle on in Sydney, Melbourne or Perth. Got me thinking is there another site I should be checking?

    Cheers
