Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    This is going to be a tough one today. Just hope City have one of their off days.

    Newcastle V Blackpool

    * 01 Harper
    * 02 Coloccini
    * 03 Jose Enrique
    * 06 Williamson
    * 14 Perch
    * 04 Nolan
    * 07 Barton
    * 10 Routledge
    * 17 Smith
    * 18 Gutierrez
    * 09 Carroll

    Substitutes

    * 26 Krul,
    * 05 Campbell,
    * 16 Taylor,
    * 24 Tiote,
    * 11 Lovenkrands,
    * 23 Ameobi,
    * 37 Ben Arfa

    As you were for the Toon. I was hoping Hughton would replace Routledge with Ben Arfa though.

    Routledge is absolutely shocking. Can never beat the first man. Useless. He's a bit like Walcott I suppose. He'll run his heart out, will produce the odd goal but that's about it. Might be a useful sub to run at tired defenders.

    I'm saying 1-0

    I was hoping the same, especially with it being Blackpool and at home,

    I'm still thinking a 2 goal win for Newcastle, 3-1

    Hoping Carroll has another good one.

    Jesus Keane must be wondering what he has to do,

    Defoe injured and looks like Harry is going with 1 up top

    TEAM NEWS - Harry Redknapp makes five changes to the team that started against Wigan. The big news is that both William Gallas and Rafael van der Vaart makes their debuts. Vedran Corluka returns with Younes Kaboul switching to central defence to partner Gallas. Gareth Bale moved back to left-back with Luka Modric returning in midfield. We also have a new front two with van der Vaart expected to play off lone striker Roman Pavlyuchenko. The players to miss after starting against Wigan are Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Michael Dawson, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Ledley King, although Crouch and Assou-Ekotto are on the bench.

    STARTING XI -
    Cudicini;
    Corluka, Kaboul, Gallas, Bale;
    Lennon, Huddlestone, Palacios, Modric;
    Van der Vaart;
    Pavlychenko.

    SUBS - Pletikosa, Bassong, Assou-Ekotto, Kranjcar, Jenas, Crouch, Keane.

    Strangely, I'm slightly confident of getting something out of Chelsea today. Still cannot understand why Grant doesn't play Da Costa though. However I'm very glad to see Spector is nowhere near the team.

    He is an absolute Gob****e,

    Twice already this season now, he is too big a liability at this stage!

    Mistake from Hart - delighted

    1-0 Blackburn

    Kalinic second goal from keeper howlers this season

    Lol what an absolute howler. Hart came for a long ball he shouldn't have, bottled it along with Toure and left an open goal.

    The first major mistake of his career really. Now we will see what he's made of - I've been waiting for him to make a mistake to see how he responds under the scrutiny of being England keeper.

    Confidence is turning to arrogance already. Had absolutely no right to come for that ball.

    from bbc :(
    Bad news for Fulham. Bobby Zamora collapses in a heap after a challenge by Karl Henry and is being stretchered off. Looks like his right leg is the problem - he is being given oxygen.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Just heard that on 5live, sounds like he'll be okay. Just unlucky in the (fair) challange. Unfortunately this add fuel to the fire being put about that Wolves are being too physical this season.

    City look so good in attack, particularly Johnson,

    but so bad in defense so far.

    Central defence is way below the level they should be aiming for - probably the position they needed to strengthen most in the Sumer yet neglected most as well. Toure is just not a good defender.

    Hart goes through Kalinic to get a punch on the ball,

    Kalinic still down, don't know what with,

    Another nervy moment for Hart.

    Typical biased commentary there. Niko should have had a penalty and Hart should have a yellow card for that challenge.
