Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

hey all,

just wondering if someone can point me in the direction of where i could get an A bar (small chrome bullbar for the front of the jeep that covers the grill etc)for the front of my freelander. I dont want a bullbar, just an A bar.

Thanks.

Try 4x4.ie (westend motors in mullingar) or Mr bullbar out by the airport, or towing equipment in bluebell.

Bear safety in mind, AFAIK most a bars dont have type approval. The cobra ones that towing equipment fit are approved.

On a seperate thing. Are you sure the chrome a bar is the way to go? Every builder/pikey has one.

well, to be honest, my next door neighbour has one on his hyundai tuscon and it looks nice.

do you have an idea of something else that would be suit better ?...opinions welcome.

A genuine soft A bar looks best if you want that sort of thing.

well, yes, thats a very nice option, but really, i was looking for something like these:

MEDK146IX.jpg

MED146IX.jpg

the option you mentioned, is this something i can fit myself or is it a garage fitted accessory ?

Any of them are DIY fit, plenty of different types on the various UK LR spares sites. Those underslung chrome types reduce the approach angle by a huge amount (not that many Freelanders or Tuscons go off road )

thanks Sean. You think then that the genuine soft A bar is the best option for me ?.

also, do you have any links to the UK Land rover accessories/spares sites ?

Thanks a million

The soft A bar I think is the only type LR can legally sell, a lot of places I use for Defender stuff no longer list A bars and the like due to EU legislation.

LRseries do (with a get out clause!), I've used them several times for parts. They do a chrome one that isn't underslung as well as the soft type.

Most parts places stock Bearmach, Terrafirma and Britpart stuff inc Crozier 4x4 in Clara, Jonathan can probably give you a competitive quote.

I'd second the soft bar.
Connectstores.com do them cheap enough: was trying to pit a link up earlier but can't get my head around this phone!

Plastic bar suits the freelanders soft styling way better. They have nice light covers and stuff too.
I think they did a run out model with all that stuff on ot. Was it the s model?

HSE is usually the top of the range but like everyone else, LR does a lot of limited editions inc run out models. The G4 limited edition had just about every bolt on goodie, ad for one here http://www.landyzone.co.uk/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3915
