I need to think of some good relaxing songs now, to relieve the stress of some of my exams.
I was planning on posting this to Yahoo Answers but I didn't want to use up points.
    My ideas so far are;

Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends
The Corrs - What Can I Do?
Katie Melua - The Closest Thing To Crazy
    Girl's Aloud - I'll Stand By You
Britney Spears - I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman
Ronan Keating - When You Say Nothing At All

Ok, why on earth would you ever consider anything from that list relaxing. Most of it, especially Green Day (actually no, all of them) would be almost feel like a grater rubbing against my ears, thats how relaxing that is!!

Right, may i recommend a North African band, who you will probably hate, but i love, tinariwen. I listen to them when im dozing off, love them.
What about some 90's also, Cafe Del Mer did some relaxing stuff.

I wouldn't consider any of what you listed as relaxing so I'll list some of what I listen to when I want to relax.

zero 7 - pretty much their entire first 2 albums,
    jose feliciano- light my fire
    air - all I need
    sigur ros - () album
groove armada - at the river, little by little, hands of time, dusk you and me, blue skies
kinobe - slip into something more comfortable and its instrumental
    orbital - belfast
    massive attack - protection
    smoke city - underwater love
neil young - heart of gold
beethoven - fur elise, moonlight sonata
    bach - air on a g string
    velvet underground - sunday morning
thomas newman - any other name
rage against the machine - beautiful world
lou reed - take a walk on the wild side, perfect day
    fleet wood mac - albatross
the cure - close to me (closer mix)
    faithless - the garden
    dusty springfield - spooky
eirik satie - gnossiennes no 1
    the floaters - float on

If you're trying to listen whilst studying I found lyric free songs are better personally so maybe check out some more classical music and see if any are to your liking.

I'll echo what the others said about your list not being relaxing at all. Have you ever listened to ambient music? I listen to quite a bit at work when I need to block out the usual background office noise. As a starting point, try StrangeZero, their discography can be downloaded for free from here.

Have a look at binaural beats, I'm using one track to sleep, knocks me out in a few mins.

Listening to some of the OP's suggestions would likely make me more stressed rather than relaxed!

Try classical music. Beethoven, Mozart etc. Some piano pieces. Orchestras.

In A Silent Way, Miles Davis. Hands down one of the greatest chill out albums. As voted by The Orb too :)

    Good idea.
    Air on a G string / Pachelbel's Canon / Moonlight Sonata

Or if classical doesn't do it for you, the Albatross or the soundtrack from Cal.

I'm guessing none of these will appeal to your tastes but here's some songs (or albums in some cases) I find relaxing

    Jimi Hendrix - Drifting
    Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing
    Black Sabbath - Planet Caravan
The Beatles - Long, Long, Long
    The Byrds - Dolphins Smile
    Caravan - No Backstage Pass
    Pink Floyd - Echoes
Pink Floyd - Fat Old Sun
    Pink Floyd - Burning Bridges
Pink Floyd - Green Is The Colour
Love - She Comes In Colours
    Love - Old Man
Van Der Graaf Generator - A Plague Of Lighthouse Keepers
Joni Mitchell - Urge For Going
Mike Oldfield - Hergest Ridge (parts 1 and 2)
Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene (the album rather than any specific track)
Antonio Vivaldi - The Four Seasons
Clannad - Robin Hood soundtrack (again the full album)

Also you might like the original version of I'll Stand By You by The Pretenders.
