Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just back from a decent spin yesterday, checking over the bike and noticed a nice crunchy sound from back wheel bearing. It sounds like some of the bearings have broken up.
What to do now? Its a shimano stock wheel, less than 1 year old, well looked after.

Ha! Coincidentally, the same thing happened me the other day and I sorted it yesterday. If you're sure it's the back wheel (try to think of the behaviour when you're on the bike - only there when pedalling/freewheeling etc?), then you'll hopefully just need to replace the bearings. After taking the bearings out, I noticed that they were corroded on one side, while perfect on the other. Grease will be a few euro and 20 bearings (I needed 18) was €1.50.

If you haven't done it before and don't have a manual, just look here, or somewhere similar:

Just to add, mine's a Shimano wheel about 1 year old too. Was surprised to see the state of the bearings in one side, but I'll be making a more regular inspection now!
