Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
I couldnt find any explanations for my cousins constant drooling so I figured someone here might know.
My aunts on holidays and she thinks the dribbling is normal - but nobody else does. Since my cousin was a likkle likkle baby shes had very excessive drooling. She goes through four or five bibs a day, and my Nana says she couldnt be teething. Shes got nine or ten teeth as far as I know, so we doubt its a teething thing.

Anyone know any other reason she could be dribbling so much? She gets a lot of wind up, and is a divil for food. She eats anything and everything going. :L

    Go raibh maith agat,
    Caughttt

*Not requesting any medical advice or anything* :L

For a lot of kids esp those who are still teething it is normal.
One of my nieces is 1 year and 8 month and is a little drool machine.

Yeah sounds like teething to me.. all mine drooled a fair bit and when the teeth were coming up it was worse.. They teethe til they're about 3 and then again when they're 7 more back teeth come in.

There are lovely little things i saw in Smyths last week, they're drool cloths, basically bibs that look like a little scarf thing and they're adorable!! She just needs to keep her chin dry now coming into winter her little chin will get chapped.

I don't think there's any way you can stop it, they usually grow out of it..

If you think drooling for the incisors are bad, they have nothing for the drooling caused by the molars. They are right next to the saliva glands in your cheeks so the moving of the gums as the baby naws at everything to relieve the pain causes more saliva than is normal for other teeth. And from the sounds of things, that baby is the exact age for molars!!!

I know this sounds rude, but doctors have confirmed this so though a lot of the old wives tales are true, your nan wouldn't know the exact going ons of a toddlers mouth!

If ye are that concerned a gp can check for problems within the saliva gland!

Just dont do what I did and leave the tv remote near them, blasted thing wouldnt work for a week!!!!! :(

That's light compared to ours. :D

Our middle girl drooled loads until she was about 3. The 8 month old is the exact same. Natural as anything.

Completely normal I think!! 5 bibs a day is good!!! I've often gone through more than that and that's with bad teething!
