Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't know how to put this in a different forum. I would like to become a beauty therapist and Aspen beauty school on camden street in Dublin are offering a Beauty Specialist Diploma which is recognised by VTEC and ITEC.

I have a load of questions about it.

Has anyone done this course? Is there alot of biology involved or is it more practical? Is there alot of book learning? Is the college any good? What would you expect to pay for this course, fees, kit? I am not sure if the price is good. Do you have any advice for someone looking to do a beauty course? Would employers take people on with this course?

hi girls I could be wrong but afaik ITEC isn't the most desired qualifications by employers. I think they tend to look for CIDESCO among others. you should ring top notch salons and enquire as to what qualifications they find most desirable in applicants for positions. Beauty therapist courses are generally expensive so make sure you do your research before you sign up for one!!

I've done the Beauty Specialist Diploma in Grange community college. There is a lot of theory in this course and you really want to be dedicated to go ahead with it. There is a lot of anatomy to learn and you need to keep on top of all your work. Your different subjects will have theory and practical. Practice, practice, practice! That is the main thing that I can say to you.

The only thing that I found is that a lot of the theory overlaps in the different classes. The skin will be taught in anatomy, skincare and in waxing. If you want to know anything you can PM me and I'll answer anything that I can.

It is extremely expensive to do some beauty courses but where I did it, it was so reasonable and affordable.

Also I think that ITEC is the hardest of the qualifications. You have to do a lot of case studies which are hard work but very beneficial as you know your treatments inside out.
