My 4-year old TRUST 950VA UPS went down with a failed battery. A replacement 7.8Ah battery was 53 Euro in Maplin. Yikes! Also in Maplin was a car jump starter for E29.95. Hmmmm.... I bought the jump starter, removed the 17Ah battery and wired in into the UPS, in place of the original.

Works great! I've used for a week now, it'll power my PC for about 25 minutes Vs 7-8 minutes with the original.
