Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

I have worked for the last 3 years in a financial institution in dublin, i am 21 and will soon be losing my job, from what i have read, my relevant tax year is 2008, i made >300 euro a week in 2008, does this mean i am eligible for a payment of 196 a week or will i be subject to a further means tests?

    Thanks in advance

It doesn't matter what you earned - as you have worked over 39 weeks of the year you will be entitled to jobseekers benefit, which is not means-tested.
You're 21 so you will get the reduced rate of E100 per week.

The relevant year decides whether you qualify for the benefit or not. It has nothing to do with the level of payment, which is determined by your age.

It doesn't mention anything like that on welfare.ie?

There is a table( can't link as I'm in my phone sorry.) showing that if my weekly earnings in my relevant tax year were 300 or more, my personal rate would be 196. It doesn't mention anything about age??

Are you saying this is incorrect??

    Thanks again

Looks like you might be talking about job swelter allowance. I am wondering whether I am eligible for the higher jobseekers BENEFIT.

    cheers.

Correct Chris89, you are eligible for the full rate as I can see. http://www.welfare.ie/EN/Schemes/JobseekerSupports/JobseekersBenefit/Pages/jb.aspx
The age restriction was suppose to apply to those who more than likely never worked or never worked for a long time.(1yr+).(JSA)
