eircom new customer broadband contract issue.

    Hi,
    I've just signed up to eircom (online) for a new line with 3mb broadband.

    It's a new provide, so a technician has to come out to install the line.

    The thing is, I only need the line for broadband, but eircom customer service just informed me that once the line is in, and if I cannot get broadband (the house is out in the country), I am still stuck for a 6 month contract for the line!!

    As they allowed me order the 3mb bundle online, surely I would be allowed get out of the 6 month contract if they cannot supply the broadband element?
