Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am looking for a bike to use for commute in and out of Dublin City. Any previous bikes I have owned have been reasonably heavy with thick tires.

Can anyone recommend a good starter bike that is light and doesnt feel like 80% of my effort is being spent bringing the bike in and out of town.

    Thanks.

edit: not sure if this is in the right section, maybe cycling adverts? thanks.

You're in the right section. Two suggestions. First, you need to mention a budget. Second, this is quite a common question on this board. You'll find some good advice by searching older threads.

I think an entry-level hybrid like a Dawes Discovery 201 or Giant CRS would suit you. Avoid suspension. Reasonably light nippy bikes. Cost around €350-400.
