I don't care either way, it doesn't affect me, have gay marriages etc if u want. I just hate these stupid polls and then people actually believe the whole country must have been asked.
Statistical sampling for polls such as this is done in such a way as to get a good demographic cross-section of the population. While not 100% accurate, they should give a relatively good estimate of the true response to the question asked.

A total of 1,006 Irish adults were surveyed in-home

Seems a very small sampling to be considering how many people live in the country :/

Very small sample to be saying x amount of population wants this or that

I said it in the beginning, these surveys mean fcuk all. There will probably be one in a few months with the opposite results, easy way to sell papers.

I'm sorry for asking such an idiotic question, but if 67% agree with it, then why isn't it legal?

Just a phone poll. The person has no time to think and human instinct makes them afraid of looking like a bigot to the person conducting the poll. Nowhere near 67% of people would accept full equal civil marriage. Hopefully some day

If it was put to referendum those opposed would pull the adoption card and people would vote no to it because obviously two women would mess up a job one woman can currently legally do....
