Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How to make outlook search faster?

I use Outlook 2007 in work and I get a lot of emails. I do a lot of searching and its annoying how slow it can be, and generally vague when only searching for one word. I've tried a few of the search tools but none are that great. Google is ok but its all in the browser. I tried Copernic but not into it. I even tried Xobni. The Microsoft Fast Search sounded good but it literally does not find most emails whatever way it is set up.

Anyone got any better tips for good outlook searching? It's ridiculous that in this day and age MS do not use an index in your emails...

    Faster searches in Outlook 2007
Outlook 2007 has search built-in. Unfortunately, this doesn't mean that the search is going to be good or fast. While Microsoft has released some patches that help make the search in Outlook 2007 faster, if you have a *lot* of old mail, the search can still be painfully slow.

Prior to the release of Outlook 2007, there was an Outlook plug-in called Lookout that provided great search functionality in Outlook. It was fast and it returned relevant results. Unfortunately, Microsoft disabled this plug-in so that it no longer worked.

Well, if Outlook 2007 is still too slow for you, or the relevance of the search results is still not to your liking, it turns out that there is a way to re-enable the Lookout plug-in in Outlook 2007. This blog entry (http://www.belshe.com/2007/12/06/how-to-install-lookout-on-outlook-2007/) from the guy who originally developed Lookout tells you how to get it working again. The days of fast and relevant search results in Outlook are back again... no thanks to Microsoft.

    Hello.

I had good search results with Lookeen, also from the developers of chilibase. real time indexing , fast search no matter where and what. Can only recommend it when you're tired of the 'average' search function in Outlook. I think there's a free trial of Lookeen so just give it a try. It should be worth it, when you need to deal with a large amount of mails....

    Greetings Nathan

    Xnobi isn't bad either.

However the fastest Outlook searches I've ever seen were on a laptop where the owner had replaced the hard disk with a SSD ...
