The World Open starts on sat and the BBC will have full coverage, no need for interactive as only one table will be in use.First game is a repeat on this years world final between Robertson and Dott, matches are best of 5 frames and the final best of 7. Really looking forward to it.

Ye just Davy Moriss from Killkenny is making his first ever appearance on tv so dont want to miss the match. I presume he probably wont be on until Monday so with games held over. Has a decent chance agaisnt anybody over a best of 5, so hopefully avoid the big guns in the last 32.

Bah ! BBC have changed onto red button coverage! Stuck in a house with Ntl! No red button! Aaaaahhhhh!

The WSA have launched a new live on line scoring system for this event, it's far better than the last one, just visit world snooker.com and hit the live scoring link. At least you can keep track of a match if you don't have the reb button option.

Like the format, for a change. Gives a chance for the lower ranked players to get on the screen too.

5 frames is just enough, anything less would be a bit mickey mouse for the players, like pot black used to be.

Great to see Jimmy back tonight winning.

excellent format, am really enjoying all the snooker so far. That fella who lost to Williams could be one to watch, He doesn't hang around potting the balls..

    sorry meant fromsport.com

Working fine now. lucky enough to see Ronnie making 147.

Asked the ref after 1 red and black if there was a max prize!

That was the strangest thing ive ever seen. After potting one red and a black ronnie asked what the prize for a 147 is. The ref says its just £4000. So he gets up to the final black and he is about to walk off with out potting it. The ref asked him to so he did, he then shakes the ref's hand doesnt shake kings and walks off. In the interview he said he isnt fuzzed about it he has loads of maximums. Then calls the sponshers stingy and leaves it at the.

The lads on Eurosport did say that all players where advised a while ago that there where no longer any maximum prizes as they where getting to expensive to insure due to the number of matches being played.

Oul Ronnie though prob doesnt read the memos from World Snooker

Strange or not you have to say it was a magnificent maximum. He truly is an incredible talent!

That attitude from Ronnie is really gonna help the game move forward! Could you imagine having made the effort to go watch and he walked off without potting the black. Would not be impressed!

like this format - open draw, amateur players, senior players, ladies etc - adds a bit of variety. Also like that they've moved to rolling rankings (like every other sport) - should add a bit more of an immediate impact to players performances.

Don't know whether Hearn's changes will save the professional game in the long term but at least he's trying something different.
