Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Brilliant again from Cole.

Don't think Martin Kelly will ever be much of an attacking full-back.

Probably cos hes a CB by trade ;)

    Anyone explain that sub?

    Go on Lucas.

Seriously Maxi off Pacheco on and Dave off Eccelston on now.

    Roy u genius!! haha.

But shows again if Lucas was allowed get forward more, he might do a bit more of that. And a lot of us wouldn't dislike him as much.

    Great shot.

Why does everyone get a stiffy about Pacheco?

He's hardly lit Anfield up on a regular basis? He's been ok at times.

If we were 2 or 3 up fair enough.

    EDIT LUCAS :eek::D

Pacheco is the new Richie Partridge, FACT.

I'm not slagging him off. I know he's been fantastic for the reserves.

It just seems everyone wants him thrown on every match as if he's the answer to all our problems!

Well after a bad first half, I'm happy with performance tonight.

Much better second half and Merieles looks class!

N'Gog made completely the wrong choice there, got lucky, but finished really well.

fair play getting himself two goals, when by all accounts, he's been very very meh.

When the other alternatives are Maxi and Babel surely you can understand why people want him on the pitch???

    Merielis...different gravy second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

for me, Meireles was a big plus tonight, as was Cole.

if we can get those two up and running properly, i think we might have a bit of a team, once we get them playing regularly with the obvious likes of Torres, Gerrard and Dirk.

i'm frightened that Pucas will be our pairing on Sunday, which will be suicide.

but all in all tonight, i'm happy with that 2nd half performance. we actually looked a class above them as opposed to the 1st; mainly when Cole and Meireles got on the ball.

In fairness, if he puts the ball in the net I'll be happy.

I know what you mean though.

They really missed the guy Angelov when he went off very early in the second half who up till then had been running the show for them.

Because our wingers are invariably crap, our play unpredictable and uncreative.

Pacheco might not be the answer to our problems, but until we start giving him a chance for more than 5 minutes at the end of games, we'll never know.

Tonight, in 5 minutes, he showed more than Maxi has in 2 games. His movement for the 4th goal was very good.

Having watched a lot of reserve football the past 3 years - i haven't seen anyone better than him for any of the teams we've played against. Or for Liverpool for that matter. (Until Suso, maybe)

Yup this was the big turning point in my opinion - was a huge loss for them.

After that Miereles and Spearing were under a lot less pressure in the centre of the park.
