Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is there no 2 stroke version. How does the 4 stroke perform compared to the old 2 stroke:confused:

Emissions legislation and increased reliability of four strokes caused the death of big bore two strokes in the late 80's. The XT500 and XT600 have become the XT660 and XTZ Tenere and Yamaha have transitioned to four stroke since the death of the TDR125.

The only remaining two stroke road bikes are made by Megelli, Aprilia and Derbi.

Sorry to burst your nostalgia bubble but unless someone invests in a fuel injected, cat converted two stroke multi-cylinder technology you are destined to spend your old age trawling eBay... I have an XT660 - you should get one.

Yamaha made WR250 2T's up to a few years ago, they would have been an Enduro mount, same as the RMX 250 which was still around in 2002 and Honda made the CRM250 up to 1999 all of which are road legal 2 strokers.
Of the bikes I just mentioned the RMX and the CRM are both available in high spec road trim with indicators, horn etc.
KTM still make 2 strokes up to 300cc which can be registered for road use (lights etc)
    The 2T isn't dead yet.
