Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Valencia away to Hercules, could be a humdinger. Gonna search prices on a 4+ goal game!

Real will be 4 points clear of Barcelona by Monday morning. Hopefully Aguero will be fit

Sociedad have had a good start to the season though, Real should have the majority of possession but they are going to have to start finishing some of there chances better than they have been.

Just looking at some of the League stats for Real Madrid so far this season, Ronaldo has 18 attempts on goal, only 6 on target, Higuain has 6 efforts with 4 on target, no goals betwen the two of them, they are going to have to sharpen up soon. Hope Canales gets a go tonight too, looks like he has it all already.

Looking like 2 losses in a row (in the league) for Barca.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

Barca owe Atletico a good beating after the last few seasons - this fixture is normally one of the best of the year with plenty of goals. Barca to win.

Marca done an article about how Real under Mourinho took the longest ever time to score a goal in la liga in Real Madrids history. Also something about Ronaldo being a selfing git and that he needs to think of his teammates. It went on to say he was an idiot for not celebrating with his teammates after the Ajax game and seemingly jumped in the shower and left the stadium immediately. They said that he is now jealous of the way the Madrid fans have taken to Ozil - its obviously linked to some members of the crowd booing Ronaldo of late for selfishness and his sulking.

Thats Marca muck wouldnt believe any of the tripe they roll out!! I think Ronaldo's ego was prob hit a blow when Mourinho took over and he realised taht they wouldn't be all buddy buddy with each other.

We're due to give Atletico an absolute d*cking after the continuous loses at the Calderon. Something like this from back in the day.

Weird game so far between Gijon and Bilbao. End to end with lots of chances and terrible defending. The Bilbao 'keeper Iraizoz surely has a nomination for howler of the season for the first goal he let in. Javi Martinez has been wonderful so far. Can't understand why people rate Llorente so high when Martinez looks like twice the player he is. For Gijon, the new lad Sangoy has looked very lively for Gijon. Looks to be the kind of player who could get 10 goals in the season for a team like Gijon.

    omgz, Llorente misses a howler.

This young Igor Martinez looks excellent. Anyone ever heard of him?

    Completly different positions.

Good game this, but the co commentator is doing my head in.

I know, I'm talking about footballing ability.

Anyway, Llorente scores to prove me wrong.

Fair enough, but Javi Martinez is very highly rated. Its reckoned he will move to one of Europes bigger teams sooner or later.

How are they even comparable? Both players are quality (Barca were after Martinez a few seasons ago, but he wasn't close to the player he is now), but Llorente is Atheltics key man, he will score goals against everyone, his record speaks for itself. He just scored, thought he's had a good game to be honest, continually getting into dangerous positions this half.

    Class again from Igor Martinez.

Llorente is a good player, I just think Martinez is a more special player.

Both of them are limited internationally as the quality in front of them is immense but still two top players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Game petering out now. Can't help but feel that Bilbao could take the three points if they tried.

Think it says a lot about them though when they are in the Spain squad with all of those more fashionable names particularly Martinez in that midfield

I'd definetly take both Martinez and Llorente at Utd!

That game finished 2-2. Real have made a promising start against Sociedad.

    How did he miss?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

I thought that was in - LoL so did the commentators.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,246 ✭✭✭Mgoraf

Thought it was in!!! What a miss

Laughable defending from Real. Simple long ball that should have been dealt with. Griezmann looks some player though, only 19.

I would love to see the overpaid mercenaries done over here.

Another great chance for the home team. Real really bad at the back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Di Maria is a headless chicken.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,246 ✭✭✭Mgoraf

Yeah, don't rate him at all.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

CR7 has been all colours of shíte. That will come back to haunt me.

Typical Real game this. Ride their luck, and get a sneaky goal later on to take the 3 points.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,246 ✭✭✭Mgoraf

    0-0 at HT.

    Bring back Pellegrini! :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,433 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

I really don't think it's plausible having Ronaldo and Di Maria in the team. They're both selfish players and waste a lot of possession/chances. It means Ronaldo (and to a lesser extent Higuain and I guess Ozil) don't get as much of the ball as they should. They may be balanced but Di Maria is a poor man's Ronaldo imo.

Some great young talent playing in La Liga tonight. First we get Igor Martinez, now we have Griezmann. I think we'll be seeing a lot more from both players this season. As for Real, Carvalho is showing just why he's such an underrated defender. Higuain is getting no service and both Di Maria and Ronaldo have been so wasteful. Think Ozil, Khedira and Alonso should be putting their foot on the game more.

The question is, will Sociedad run out of gas? They've been playing at some tempo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Very, very nice from Di Maria.

Will Jose park the bus now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Jose just roared the head off Ronaldo there for being so selfish. Ronaldo then follows it with a really nasty tackle from behind on a Bilbao player.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,296 ✭✭✭✭gimmick

    ^ Sociedad even ;)

He really is a despisable player.

    EDIT: ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    TAMUDO!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Now Carvalho shows me up, typical!

Where was the full back though? Tamudo had oceans of space there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

Real look Real poor. Not a team yet. Agree with the Ronaldo comment. He's a big baby

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Tamudo scored that with his crotch :D
