^ City Auto Components, just off the Walkinstown roundabout on the Greenhills Road, Dublin 12.

I happened to be in Dublin today, so I called to these guys to get some classic plates. Turns out they dont do them, they sent me to Radiator services in Rutland Place.

I went down and got pressed metal silver on black. Cost €40 for pair(pricey enough I think). Id say they can do pretty much any type of reg plate, judging by what I saw hanging on their wall.

Are the plates you got modern-style embossed plates, or older style plates with large digits?

    Thanks for reply.

last week i was in france and was reading a supplement on 40 years of building renaults in Douai. there were pics of the various models and here was a green renault 14 , l.h.d. but reg MIK 665.
One can often see numbers from othe countries that resemble irish ones but this looked Irish.

On another note, i was prowling through E Bay a while ago and looking at an NSU Quickly for sale, the ad had a link to some info on the Quickly and there i was looking at a Quickly with a sidecar outfit!!!
Amazing as that was , the reg no was from Dublin, YIK perhaps (def ?ik)
and the script of the info was in German but the word Dublin was in there.

    Regards Rugbyman

just found that NSU quickly again YIK 705.. dont know how to transfer pic.

    Translation:

"The man from Dublin calls the Quickly “Beiwagenfest” – he attached a custom build lightweight side car to the side and solved the space problem for his two kids. Where there’s a will + friendly registration office there’s a way, as you can see."
