Are the plates you got modern-style embossed plates, or older style plates with large digits?

They are embossed. They had 2 sizes of font, i went for the smaller one.

last week i was in france and was reading a supplement on 40 years of building renaults in Douai. there were pics of the various models and here was a green renault 14 , l.h.d. but reg MIK 665.
One can often see numbers from othe countries that resemble irish ones but this looked Irish.


On another note, i was prowling through E Bay a while ago and looking at an NSU Quickly for sale, the ad had a link to some info on the Quickly and there i was looking at a Quickly with a sidecar outfit!!!
Amazing as that was , the reg no was from Dublin, YIK perhaps (def ?ik)
and the script of the info was in German but the word Dublin was in there.
