What are the estimated minimum time savings of traveling Wexford to Waterford folks? I'm intrigued whether this will remove the need for the Passage ferry for my journeys.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,237 ✭✭✭Azatadine

As an estimate 10 mins in morning and 15 in evening.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,886 ✭✭✭Chris_5339762

I would have said a lot more than that, at rush hour. 10 minutes easily at non-peak times, 30 minutes at peak.

Actually, you are right. I travel the other way....Wat to Wex in morning and other way around in evening. I timed it a couple of times in my direction.

Definitely a much bigger impact in the evening of going from Wat to Wex though alright. Probably will knock around 30 mins off.

Three Form travelers and a Wing traveler will be deployed simultaneously at the bridge´s three main towers and the approach abutments for the balanced cantilever construction of the deck.

Took this today up near Kennedy Homestead. The size and scale of the bridge even from a distance is something else.

I must say the new Oldcourt Roundabout near the Brandon Hotel has really helped the flow of traffic coming off the R733.

Still can't picture how the spans are being built, are they going to build the pylons and tie as they go, similar to a cable stayed?

Really flying along with the recent spell of good weather. Was down in the Arnetstown/Ballylane area on Friday where the bypass goes under the existing road and they have it tarmacadamed in both directions. If I'm down there this week I'll try take pictures from there along with near the pink rock and Glenmore area.

Does anyone know what are the depth of the P4 piles and how deep is the river (low/high tide) at the crossing point?
The draft of the channel in New Ross is given as 14-15m.

Not really - there's an insufficient number of donkeys and red-headed children to put it into that category!

No shortage of either on that side of the river :D
