I wonder if they will put anti-Aircraft warning lights on it? The foggy picture there had me thinking some idiot in a Helicopter or Cessna could crash into it.

Fantastic piece of infrastructure but devastated that it won't be opening this month as I now have to travel this route on Stephen's Day. Probably won't be back down that way for months after that. Ah well that's life!

Opening of this is something that a purpose built trip will be done for.

Yes I will definitely find an excuse to travel via New Ross instead of the M8 on my trips from Dublin to Cork once this is open! I need to do the Enniscorthy bypass also so that will tie in nicely with this.

The dark photo shows red aircraft lights.

Are they real lights? Looks photoshopped...

Red lights up there this evening as I drove by on N25. Think it's the first time I've seen them.

Absolutely cannot wait to witness this view first hand !

A special trip will be arranged to do so on opening day. I was thinking about a daytime trip, but maybe west-east in the early afternoon and east-west at dusk to catch this scene. While away the intervening hours on Hook Head or maybe a trip to Kilmore Quay for fish & chips !

This is a link to an amazing video created by insta_mavic a few weeks back. I don’t think it was listed here previously.Notwithstanding the fact that the temp pier on the island has since been demolished, the light is simply gorgeous in the opening sequence and it is well worth a view.
