Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I dont think that exact link is working but I was able to navigate the website to find the photos.

The Dublin photos are fantastic, the Zoo's are eye opening, St. Stephens Green and adjacent streets are really interesting too. Many statues around Dublin city have long since gone.

Others that spring to mind are of the Glencar waterfall recently posted here also a damaged celtic cross in Monistorboice.

What a great collection. I've seen several of them before, but to have them all on display and grouped by town is fantastic. Must have a go at some of the local ones.

I thought he just collected them, but it seems he had a studio and photographer staff. Robert French was the photographer for most of the collection :

Wow. I spent quite some time browsing through the pictures of Kerry (as I'm not as familiar with the rest of the country. Me = foreigner!) and it's amazing the way it used to look... Some of the buildings that look very old there, are barely even there anymore these days. Buildings that are brand new there, look so deteriorated now (off course they do).... Thanks for posting that link. Felt a bit of the magic of how it used to be.

Thanks for sharing that, love the old pics, and love to have plenty to look at !

For those interested, there is a great archive of old photographs on the Dungarvan Museum website, Co Waterford of course, a lot of interesting pics there.

There's a lot of locations which I've actually photographed myself in Wexford that appear in the archives. Its crazy how much things have changed!

It's a shame the Lawrence Collection images are so small in the online gallery. It's hard to see any detail at all, or even get a sense of them. I know they have to protect their cash cow...but seriously.
