Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    2 things..

    My faithful Samsung NC10 has started having a big problem - screen turning white. I checked this online, common prob. I've never had to 'return' anything in my life really, so if I find the little warranty card (bought it off ebay) would it be possible to bring this to somewhere to get it repaired if its still covered? am living on the continent

    Second thing
    The samsung is great, but I'd like longer batt life and the ability to play higher res movies (samsung stutters when film is high res)

    Is there anything out now or coming out that is looking good?
    Reckon I can spend up to 400 euros

    The Compaq 311 looks half decent, 6 hour batt life and Nvidia ION

    BUt am not that up on netbooks at all

    Any advice or info would be great cheers

    It's just a matter of adjusting the ribbon cable behind the screen, 5 minutes with the right screwdriver and a bit of sticky tape (I used a plaster).

    Dealextreme do a 9-cell battery for $52 delivered, I've had mine on for over a year now and it's still good for 7+ hours.

    Nothing you can do about the hi-res movies, an extra gig of RAM helps a little but the processor isn't really up to the job.
