Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Computer performing sluggishly, freezing a lot

    Hi all,

I have a basic Inspiron desktop, and over the last while I've been having a lot of trouble with the computer performing sluggishly, freezing a lot and so on. It's really irritaing when you're doing something basic like browsing and whole thing freezes for a few minutes.

What could be the possible causes if this? Is there anything I can do to detect a problem?

I'm not sure if it matters, but the only anti-virus I have is the free version of AVG.

I'd appreciate any advice on this.

    Hi,

Delete the temporary internet files and the browsing history.

Delete all files in any temp folders then empty the recycle bin.

    Defrag the C:\ drive.

    What OS are you running?

Download/install Ccleaner to do this for you.

I would recommend using the "scan for registry errors" part of Ccleaner too. Quite handy.

+1 on the defrag. (Start - Program Files - Accessories - System Tools - Defragment) Or you can download MyDefrag, which I find better!
