I was refused a phone contract, because I would not pay an extra €150 returnable after 6 months deposit, Reason: I failed their credit rating, :eek: to be honest I have never failed to pay a loan, mortgage, or another debt, and I have a decent wage, and a very healthy savings acc. and am a home owner. How would I go about…

It's all very random

Meteor asked me for 150 euro deposit and I was working full time.
The fact that I was with Meteor PAYG for years didn't matter.
Maybe it's because I was renting, even the manager told me they get different quotes even for people in similar situations.

Then I read here that some students get contract phones with no deposit yet I was asked

All networks ask for deposits but not to all customers. I signed up with three and got an iPhone. No deposited needed. Before that, I tried Meteor getting the most basic phone and I was asked for €150 deposit.
