Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just goes to show how glass is more important than actual the actual camera.

IMO, the order of importance.... Light, Glass, Sensor/Film. :)

Order of importance: position, position, position.

Well, ability to find position? Yes. That's all. Everything else is just other stuff.

I'd say the ability to find the right position, and point the camera in the right direction at the right time. Everything else is just technicalities. Then if you can do that on a consistent basis then chances are you may just make for a competent photographer. Getting PAID for it makes you a pro :)

I've stuck the lens from an old pocket folding kodak from the 1920s or so onto one of my cameras ...

Some pictures. Some of swans ... make of that what you will ...

Makes no difference what position or time your in. If you've no light, glass and sensor/film then you won't be taking any photos. After that comes the rather abstract 'Position' and 'Timing' in whatever order you like. :pac:

And that's my rather elaborate position at this time. :)

I think the 'having a camera' bit is a given ...

I think the 'having a camera' bit is a given ...

If that's the case, which it wasn't from my POV, then i'd have to say expression and the ability to get that across in an image are most important.

Ah yeah, on a photography forum it'd have to be a given that one would have something with the ability to record an image.

Still think Position is by far and away the all important. After that everything is running far behind.

Own opinion of course based on my own experience.

From a metaphysical point of view the photo needs somebody to look at it to decide if it good or bad
