    Hi all,

Has anyone any recommendations for a child friendly restaurant/cafe in Dublin South, meeting old friends. Kids are 2/3/4. Ideally somewhere that has a play area , so the adults can chat..

    Cheers

Milano Italian restaurant on Dawson Street has a play area for children, and good pizzas too,

Also www.milanooffers.ie usually have discounts and deals (if the link sends you to the general milano homepage, there are no deals on at the time)

the last few times that we've been to Milano's the kids area has been 'full' or 'closed'. we've always wound up sitting right by the kitchen with servers brushing by constantly.

Milanos in Dun Laoghaire is good and relaxed
Avocado in Kilmacanouge can be good too but not ideal if too busy.
Gotham cafe in Stillorgan is also good for kids
Don't think any if the above have play areas to my knowledge

milano's in dublin...the kids area is perpetually full and you'll just wind up sitting by the kitchen with waiters brushing past. in short, don't bother with this one.

milanos in dunlaoghaire is fine if you avoid peak hours and weekends. it's great if the weather is good enough to sit outside. a much more accessible one is the 40 Foot, a block away. plenty of space for kids to go wild, decent kids menu and staff well used to kids.

bits and pizza's in patrick's street is iffy, sometimes good, sometimes bad. last time we were there they watered down the wine and glared at the kids, other times it was normal.

The Step Inn in Stepaside has always been very good for me and my gang. The kids love the burgers :)
