Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Story,

    Need some advice here. Lost my job last November, went on the JSA for 3 months before heading to Australia for 7 months. Hoped things would have improved by now, but jobs are still hard to find.

    Could I go and sign on again or would there be some sort of rule preventing this given that I left the country for a while?

    Regards, Paul.

    Should be fine - you need to be out of the country for most of the last two years.

    Thanks for the reply Nolanger.

    Another thing, I am moving into a rented house, costing about €400 per month in North Dublin. Would this be covered under the rent allowance?

    Another option for qualifying for Rent Supplement is to
    * Be assessed in the last 12 months by a local authority as being eligible for and in need of social housing. If you don't have a housing need assessment, you must go to the local authority to have your housing need assessed. The local authority must be in the same area that you intend to live and claim Rent Supplement. Only when you are assessed as eligible for and in need of housing can you apply for Rent Supplement. Rent Supplement is not payable while the local authority is carrying out a housing needs assessment.
    You must also:
    * Pass a habitual residence test
    * Pass a means test.[/I]
