Epson stylus printer help please?

Hi,
I have an Epson stylus photo R240 printer which I got in 2006.
I'm not very tecnologically minded and my questions are these -

1-will this printer print documents from my computer as well as photos?
I can't check it out as I seem to have lost the connecting cable.

2-I've got a new netbook that I want to use it with,but to install it onto the netbook theres a c.d,and of course my netbook has no c.d drive.
Would it be possible,using a friends laptop,to copy the contents of the c.d onto my memory stick and then install the printer onto my netbook that way?

The best solution is to dowload the latest drivers from
http://www.epson.co.uk/Printers-and-All-In-Ones/Inkjet/Epson-Stylus-Photo-R240/Drivers-Support
I do not see any drivers specifically for Windows 7.

The cable you need is a USB cable, the usual type with an A and B connector.
With regards to photo printing epson printers are very good at photo printing, the print head is usually built in and carts are not expensive but tend to dry out when not in regular use.

My old r200 worked on vista by simply plug & play, so once you get a usb cable just connect up the printer and windows should load the drivers automaticly

Yes the R240 can print documents up to A4 size.
