This is a bit of a long shot. Anyone out there who was sent a letter by Galway County Council in 1997 following abolition of water charges? The letter stated that any overpayment would be held in credit. Have been in dispute with Galway County Council regarding this for some time. They have stated that they have no record of not having refunded this credit and are basing their response on the 'memory' of a staff member, who worked there at that time, that all credits were refunded. Would be delighted to hear from anyone who can recall if this situation applied to them and if they ever, in fact, received a refund.
