Have a Nokia 6300 locked to Vodafone that's never really used (kept as a spare).
Deffo don't have enough spent on it but need to give it to someone who's on Meteor, stood on their phone and broke it
What's the cheapest way of getting a code for it?

To answer your question, "whats the cheapest way". Its to get the code from vodafone. you dont have to have enough spent yourself, but someone you know can submit your imei number and get your code for you once its a vodafone locked handset and they have valid bill contract or payg spend. If you dont know anyone, then yes an unlock shop will do it for about €10, €20 at the very max.

OMG what a mess.
Found someone who had a Vodafone Bill Pay and had enough spent.
So rang Vodafone - after a long wait and typing in numbers - the automated message comes back - "you'll have to do that online as you can no longer do this through customer care".
Go online and now it doesn't give me the option.
Kinda get the impression Vodfone don't want to give them out.

Get your friend to login to their account online, and submit your imei number into the site, and then they will text or email you the unlock code.
