Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How much for a wheel?

    A few spokes broke on my bike there the last day.. Went into the local bike shop and he said you might aswell buy a wheel as its cheaper

    He charged a 7:50 for just taking the tyre off and on and the wheel cost 37:50..

    The bike only cost me €120 new how the hell is a wheel so much???!!!

    Or was I ripped off?

    40 Euro is about right if it took him an hour or so to source the correct spokes,install them and true the wheel.
    It may be more economical to purchase stronger wheels that suit your riding style, terrain and (weight possibly).

    €40 is not unreasonable for a wheel, I don't think I've seen one for less. The one he put on is likely a slighly higher quality than the one your bike came with if it only cost €120 new. Bikes that cost €120 new generally have issues with things going wrong with them and are a false economy.

    Yeah - sounds like you got the cheapest wheel they have.

    Buy cheap, cry twice.

    as all above. just bought the basic wheelset suitable for my commuter - €180, otherwise you get problems.
