I was wondering about the books and magzines , are the stats permanent once you read it or do you need to hold it in your inventory?

You have to keep hold of it!

They also double up, I.E. if you are holding Gambling 1, Gambling 2 and Gambling 3 it inceases your chances of winning cash in the casinos three times over. (Note: Go to the Big Wheel or the mega slot for serious winnings, this is a quick way to get money for the SUV etc...)

Sorry if this has been asked previously in this thread, but anyone know where the cheapest place to buy this game is ?
    Thanks

Not sure if is the cheapest, but I can tell you how much it was in HMV to save you some leg work. 44.99 for standard 52.99 for zombrex edition (has a cool pen with it can a making of dvd all in a steel case.)

Depends what you mean getting through the game, there are 5 or 6 endings depending on what you do or don't do. You can finish the game by just messing around and not doing a single mission if you want to.

You get combo cards from saving certain people, killing certain bosses, leveling up and others are hidden on posters around the game.

I'm on my second play through and at level 32 and I have just 25 combo cards. I got ending C the first time because I wasn't strong enough to get the S ending. Loving the Blambo and Blitzkrieg:D.

I wish there was an infinite mode like the first one though.:(

    Tesla ball ftw!!!

I was blessed by failing the case early in my 1st play, was cursing at the time, but played through just doing random stuff , started my 2nd play at level 20.

Even now I'm still having psycho troubles. Oh and you don't need the cards as such to make the stuff once you have the parts.

I'm having psycho problems at level 32 ffs. That chef just eats his way to victory, I can't kill him at all.

You do need the combo cards to perform the alt attacks on the weapons that have them though I think.

Loving this game. I've played to the end once after letting the cases expire and got the D ending. Then I started again around lvl 27 and doing the cases. I love trying to round up a bunch of survivors and get them all back safely against the clock. I killed most of the psychos first time round but the chef is by far the hardest. I could barely scratch him. I'll have to try again with better weapons and painkiller.

EDIT: went back with a lightsaber and painkiller... easy

Does the money you earn from TIR online carry over to your campaign ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,067 ✭✭✭Gunmonkey

Yeap, click the "Cash Out" option at the bottom of the TiR menu and choose which save-game to send the money too. There are also clothing items to unlock for earning $1,000,000 in TiR too.

The trick is use a fast weapon and stay on him , i used the knife gloves and torch sword. hit twice back off he'll run to the next food to heal, hit twice roll away rinse repeat. I didn't have the jump kick when I fought him but that might work while he's stopped.

The guy with the chain saw in the church on the strip was only beaten by pure luck on my part, even then a bloody zombie got me when I left on one bar of health

    Any one else get snowflake?

Edit: For those having trouble with Randy (guy in the church: mission here comes the groom) this was actually the easiest in the game once I figured out the trick to beating him. Once I did that I did it with out taking any damage :) I'll spoiler for those who don't want to know.
As soon as the cut scene ends run out side and keep running till the music changes, make sure he doesn't follow you out to the strip, Now run back to the church and randy with be busy with the bride, lash him twice and run away as before till the music changes and repeat
    simples :D

I got Snowflake but i accidently left him/her back to the safehouse when i was leaving back survivors! well annoyed cos a tiger would be handy for helping me slaughter things.

Since theres no action happening in the ps3 thread for dead rising, think ill post here. I killed randy
by making the garden rake and battery combo. Both items are close by to the maintenance room near the chapel. All you need do is stay between the seats and when he runs infront of the seat to come get you give him 2 hits with the weapon. Then jump over the rail, wait til its clear and rejump the rail and repeat.
I killed him while losing no health. Love his big ass chainsaw after hes dead :D

Im lvl 25 at the mo and have saved all survivors bar 2 i killed one by accident lol. Still on my first run and ive just started the 3rd day with all side missions also do. In saying that im going to skip
the poker matchs in the safe house and atlantico casino
theyd eat up too much time.

Trust me tony you do have time!!!!!!!!!! Especially if you have the 3 books on you at the time. it's worth a cool $1000000  I lost one of them in the horde outside on the way to safehouse

Be warned though, I saved Stewart outside this casino a little while before doing this poker match and was interrupted during it with messages to say
around 10 survivors had defected left the safe house and were now gunning for me
. In short if you saved stewart before doing the poker match , check on him and talk to him in the safe house asap. I was able to reload get the books , get back to the safe house and then back to the casino for the match and back to the safehouse again before Katey needed a jab. was just finished case 4-1 at the time I believe.

The one called Ante Up was even easier, won 10 straight hands going all in , although there was no cash reward for it if i recall.

Edit: Is it just me or are regular zombies more aggressive and bigger in number now , (evening of day 2)

Regular zombies are always more aggressive between 7pm and 7am every day. You can tell by their eyes glowing red during that time frame.

Died at level 12 with the first psychopath. I wasn't expecting it and I had no health with me and two survivors who were getting in the way plus all I had was a 'red' Nail Bat. Was enjoying it so said I'd start over with a higher character.

Your man on the motorbike outside keeps killing me, (cant remember his name) and havent got a clue how to kill him, anyone know where to get any magazines that make weapons more durable and less prone to break ? :P
    Thanks

Fought him twice now, must have died 10 times in the effort though.

Like others it's easy when out work out the trick. Once I beat him with torch + gems sword, other with mma gloves and nails combo. Basically you need a fast weapon and your back to a wall or somthing else for him to crash into to get him stunned then wail on him and run away. then repeat. Don't chase him let him see you but don't run after him. pick your spot and dive out of the way when he tries to run you down. Ii got really lucky the 1st time as he got stuck between a lamp post and a fence and I just pwnd him.

Oh I found the walls next to the main mall entrance (where the safe house is)the best spot to get him to crash into , just watch out for stray zombies , maybe thin them out a bit before dismounting the bike.

Well since there is no magazine to boost Combo Weapon durability weapon magazines are pretty pointless to go look for, just hunt around for the parts fro more combo weapons. If Leon is giving ya stick, try this:
go to the food court, and look for 3 vending machines lined up. hop on top and jump to the ledge nearby, there will be 2 bows and 1 dynamite round, and another dynamite in the nearby maintenance room. Combine all these gives ya 20x2 Blambo, a very powerful ranged weapon and great for hitting Leon as he charges you

Might as well make pain killer and a 2x quicksteps while you're there in the food court, those will help no end.

Also for later remember the quickstep drink !!!!!!! If you die during a mission in a night club then you forgot to drink quickstep ;)

Just completed The Facts of the story last night. The boss seemed to be impossible until you figure out what's going on, much like all psycho fights. First few times I was killed really fast so be sure and save before going into this. Spoiler
I brought the LMG with me and just hid behind one of the statues and popped out and shot him every time there was an opening. You can kill him without taking much hits this way just get away from where he throws the flares. oh and you want to have given TK Zombrex to get to Overtime mode

So at the end of overtime mode now and had one crack at the boss at the end of it but once again It'll take a few more goes to get his pattern down.

Great game. 42 Survivors on 1st playthrough so I'll be looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd playthroughs where I can start having fun and not worry about the story waypoints.
