LOL, this is the worst idea I've ever heard! Let the show die!

If Kutcher plays Kelso circa 2011 i'll be pissed!...we already have braindead Jake, he needs to be Charlie-esque, as in womanizer etc. - you can BET Demi Moore will guest star as a hot MILF.

Surely for the concept of the title of the show to make sense, they also need to replace the half man in 2 and a half men. So Kutchers character needs to have a kid son and Jake needs to either become a more minor character or he needs to replace Alan who becomes the more minor character instead.

yeah $2 mill, which took him 7 seasons to get to, he started off on something like $150,000 an ep as main cast memebers do at the start of the show, but the show was such a hugh success that hes pay went up and up, he earned it, what the hell has kutcher done to deserve to be the highest paid actor in tv, at leats sheen brought in 12 million plus viewers a week for 7 seasons to get what he earned,
Simply because Kutcher is bigger than Sheen was when he began Two and a Half Men. Today's teens will be more familiar with Kutcher than they would of been with Sheen when he began.

would have preferred hugh grant he could play the same character he played in music and lyrics well the same character he plays everytime, better to do silly tv and then do a decent film in the hiatus then doing ****ty movies.

heres a interesting graph tv stars pay, if the numbers are right jon cryer ain't doing too bad for himself

lol thanks for the laugh, kutcher bigger than sheen, sheen has been making films since the 80s, he was fairly hit and miss, but he was extremely well known when men started

and id have to disagree with ya there, there is no proof that todays teen are more familiar with kutcher, how would that even be the case, the biggest role he had was that 70s show which he left in 2005 (maybe punked might give him a slight increase but not much id say), so unless todays teens watched that 70s show when they were 9 i doubth they know who he is, and bar the butterfly effect hes had a fairly sh1te film career, thus hes fall back to tv land,

also you are aware that people who stared watching this show when they were 16 (probably the core audience that kept getting it renewed) are now 24, and id say most 24 year olds think kutcher is a moron, and will find it hard to accept that change in driection the show is about to take, as has been stated on many occasions this show was made for sheen, not some clean cut flyboy:D

yeah i always laugh when i think that john cryer gets paid more playing a supporting role on a half hour comedy that hugh laurie get paid playing the lead role in an hour long drama (plus the physical stress of having to apply that limp for 7 years):D

damn i passed the 1000th post and forgot :(

I 100% disagree with this. While I agree that it was a few years ago since The 70s Show aired, but today's Teens still identify him from being in the show. I know people who watched it when they were 12/13 and watch Two and a Half Men at 18/19. Punk'd was also a hit at the time. Kutcher is also one of the biggest celebs on Twittter (Sheen has probably overtaken him at this stage, but that is solely for his outbursts during the year), so Teens must know/like him. I can count more films Kutcher was in than Sheen was in mainly due to the fact, as a young male, these films are targeted towards me and Sheen was before my time. I believe Sheen was at his prime during the late 80s/early 90s with Wall Street and the likes. What films has he been in lately? Scary Movie 3 and 4? My point being, if it wasn't for Two and a Half Men I don't think Sheen would be as largely known amongst Teens, where as Kutcher has been in two successful TV Shows and many Chick Flick films targeted at Teens.

As a side note, I don't think Two and a Half Men appeals to many 24 Year Olds, and I dont think it is marketed at that age group.

Ashton Kutcher is a nobody acting-wise, he's known mostly for being married to Demi Moore.

    http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=heiglkutcheraction.htm

yeah his second last film with the also very "famous" Katherine Heigl tanked big time at the box office, his last film (no strings attached) made a decent profit, im not a betting man, but id say it was more on the fact natalie portman had just won an oscar,

the show was writen for sheen the creators even stated this, so how exactly do they plan on making the show work for kutcher, he is noting at all like sheen, he thinks hes funny sadly he is not, punked was funny back the 90s when it was called beetles about, and you do realise MTV find 500,000 people HUGH

also i dont think sheen even cares, as long as the show continues hes gonna get paid, not hes full amount but hell probably get $200,000 and episode for sitting on his ass(as his contract states, as long as the show goes on my bank account goes up:D), hes very good at "acting" crazy,

Your original statement was that you couldn't believe he was getting a Million per episode. I was just pointing out as to why he is getting so much. At the end of the day, Ashton Kutcher is a brand. He is an established actor and people know him. That's why he is getting paid so much. Why didn't Sheen get as much when he started off on Two and a Half Men? I believe that not as many Teens knew Sheen back then, as Teens now know Kutcher.

watching a few interviews with hugh as he promotes his album and the interviewers all suggest he's the highest paid actor on tv, and he says well since charlie side goodbye maybe, everyone forgets about jon cryer cos he's not the lead.

and he doesn't mind the limp

Can't wait to see what they do with the opening credits. Surely they can't change the song!!!

Would not have predicted Kutcher in a million years, but he's a credible actor, the writers are fantastic and I will be watching!!

They'll probably just use the short version.

Or it's a good oppertunity to make new opening credits, they did update it a couple of seasons back to reflect Jake getting older, he's like 17 now?
TMZ reported Kutcher sitting down for coffeee yesterday, i have faith in Lorre to pull this off, but will the viewers accept it?

As a side note, Kutchers 6.7 million Twitter followers was mentioned as good promo/bringing in viewers.....but that didn't help Hellcats with Ashley Tisdale who has 4.3 million!

But the short version still has Charlie on it, doesn't it? Unless they replace Charlie with Ashton... That could go either way.

I know. But, it's Charlie's and Alan's head singing the song, and then Jake comes in. I love what they did in later series having Jake grow up; but my point is that the title series has always had the same song, and the same inital sequence. I wonder will they change the sequence to put Ashton's head in rather than Charlie's, or will they change it completely. They'll probably have to change it completely, but who knows! I just hope that they don't change the song - 'cause it's a proper archetype of the show.

Ashton Kutcher confirmed as Charlie's replacement? Excellent news!!
I've a great idea for a storyline for the first episode.... They should get him on water skis and get him to jump over a tank of sharks. It'll kick off the season nicely. Can't fail.

Wow!...how original of Lorre, clearly leaving the door open for a Charlie return should Kutcher tank, way too much money involved:

Charlie Sheens character in Two and a Half Men will not be killed off, according to reports.

Bang Showbiz claims that the show will instead mention that Sheen's character Charlie Harper has relocated to Paris.

Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men in March this year, following a public spat with the show's creator Chuck Lorre.

Producers plan to use Sheen's final scenes as Charlie Harper, in which he leaves for the airport with his stalker Rose, to explain the character's absence from the series.

Last month, it was confirmed that Ashton Kutcher had been cast as Sheen's replacement, and that he will join Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones in the show's revamped cast.

Two and a Half Men is expected to return for a new season in September.

We all would. Its sacrilege to continue without Charlie. It would be like continuing Father Ted without Ted, or the Simpsons without Homer. Its just not right.
