Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

yamaha home entertainment system

    if im posting this in the wrong place im sorry.

    ok about 6/7 years ago i bought this.

    it worked fine for nearly 5 years. after that when you put in a disc it kept saying disc error and would not read them anymore.i brought it back to where i bought it they said they would send it to yamaha because they couldnt fix it.after a year(believe it or not) yamaha said they could not fix it either they said the laser that reads the dvd was gone and they didnt have a replacement part.

    that was nearly a year ago.its stuck in the wardrobe upstairs and its gathering dust and im wondering firstly if anything can be done with it and secondly if anyone thinks they could use it?

    im open to any suggestions except dumping it as in fairness it cost 599 euros at the time.

    by the way i have everything that came with it even the manual and its in great condition except dvd player doesnt work.

    You have two options -
    1. Look on ebay - try to find the optical laser as a spare part / or a working model and simply replace the head unit.
    2. Buy a replacement "AMP" along with a stand alone DVD/BLU ray player : Yamaha'a RXV367 if you want to keep the same manufacture.
