Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Link here

If the organisation and the route choice is anything like the one held earlier this year in Wicklow it'll be a cracker.

is the 1000euro for the winner only or spread among the field?

According to their website (link: here it says
'€1000 cash prize kindly sponsored by Pallas Foods'. My reading of it is that the prize is for the winner.

I daresay the closest you will get will be to Enniskerry and perhaps car pool / share a taxi from there with others? You could check with Debra Ireland if they are running transport to the start?

Was hoping to give this a bash but I'm on Glastonbury ticket buying duty. Should elicit similar emotions as a trail race. Hopefully it'll be "that was tough but worth it" feeling.

Guapos- Its a bit of of my way but if you haven't secured a lift by Saturday pm me and i'll pick you up in Enniskerry or Kilmacanogue and get you to Glencree.

Really looking to this event. Weather forecast is for sunshine.:)

Unfortunately the 185 bus from Bray to Shop River doesn't run until 10:30 on Sunday, and the 44 is too late as well :(

You could catch the new Luas to Bride's Glen, but will still need taxi/lift to Glencree.

These trails are all in good nick at the moment. Should be quite a tester with Maulin as the warm up, then the long slog up Prince Willies. From there to Old Boley's and Glencree is a bit up and down with some rocky patches, but all good fun :D

    Looking forward to it.

Gawd I'm sore after this event today but it was well worth it. Couldn't have gotten a better day for it either. The winner (don't know his name) was seriously fast. He lead from the start, went off course on Maulin then passed out the leaders and won by a big distance. The guy who was forth also went off course on Prince Williams, costing him 3rd place.
V friendly crowd and a great day out all in all.:)

    +1

Fell into the bath for a good long soak after getting back from the race. Thanks to Denis for the lift back down the hill :)

This was a challenging course. Seriously long descent off Maulin, with the first 1km on a steep grassy bank. A few slips and slides because of the wrong shoes. I'd ditched the Mudroc's for trail shoes, but benefitted on the long forest road sections.

The climb up Prince Willies is a killer. It just went on and on. Managed to keep up a jog until encountering 40 walkers on the rocky bit. The trail back off the summit and up the valley was tough to keep moving on. Lots of rocks and puddles to trip up tired legs.

I had trouble with the knees down the featherbeds road to Glencree. Finishing on tarmac was just plain mean!

Fair play to Rafael to come 2nd :D Pity the €1000 attracted the bandit ;) (Sorry Brian, I'm sure you did it for DEBRA)

A great time by Brian. Few enough people in Ireland could have gone close to him. Fair play to Rafael to bag 2nd. Pity the numbers were so low, it being for charity and all. I wonder was the big prize money more counter productive than not in the end to the turnout.

I would think the low numbers are just due to the number of races on over the weekend, there were lots of events on , the Causeway coast marathon, 3/4 marathon, Cork to Cobh, Novice XC .....I'm sure there were a few more that I've missed.
