im currently loking for the best powerful workhorse laptop >or= 1000, just for music production, as i have 2 places to make music and i have no intention of dangerously moving my heavy music pc an hours bumpy drive back and forth every week i have been searching around but can't decide, any suggestions? im open to windows…

Macbook Pro. Whatever the best spec'd one is you can afford.

You can get a better spec'd PC for the same price, but for ease of integration with controllers and audio interfaces, stability, reliability etc etc Mac's are much better.

if you want a 15 inch screen, get a second hand macbook pro.
