Hi, ive just started building my house, its 1850sqft bungalow. To get it to floor level inc floor poured with 3 rowes of blocks its cost me €9.72 per sqft, this includes all diggin work and filling and plumbing and insulation radon ect. ready for blocks now on floor level. base for garage also included 315sqft. I am just curious what is the going rate. Also if anyone wants an idea for this work priced.

Is that €9.72/sqmtr or sqft? Is the whole thing costing you €1900 or €19000?

After that I can't answer your question  I am waiting for my 2nd quote. First one was €5.85/sqft for labour only for 2050sq ft (1250 house, 800 garage), cottage demolition & driveway prep.

Sounds good enough to me. Mine was €10.06 i.e. 29000 for a 2880sqft.
These foundations are for a Timber Frame house, so the inner leaf is 6 inch for a 140mm stud rather than the usual 100mm, so this made it a bit more expensive.

I find it curious that people are still using that method for substructure, when a raft is cheaper. A colleague here is building his house, and got a price of €66/sq m for a structural raft - which would mean your house and garage would have cost €13,292 - if I understand your numbers correctly, then you've paid more than that. Is that right ?

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
