    Ok, let's try something out....

I've found that there's not enough time in these debates for a whole lot of audience discussion, so maybe we can continue a little debate of our own in here? Do many Boardsies go to the debates?

Heard the porn star never showed up.

I was in UCD last week and (having been there over many years previously) I had to laugh when I saw a debate on glamour models advertised, and now apparently the inevitable 'porn star' debate is on!

An opportunity for the future movers and shakers to have an intellectual joust on the most important issues of the day in the supposedly grand tradition of the L&H or any excuse to get some blonde with big air-bags onto campus every September?

I'm the lawsoc debates convenor (IE the bloke who organises it), if you guys want Q&A time in debates, or you actually want to take the floor I will organise it for you.

Of course you'd have to stop going to Wednesday nights and give up your Tuesdays instead.

    All feedback/advice/ideas welcome.

It's not a negative thing. Jesus, if we were to give everyone the time they wanted to speak, then we'd still be there. Just wondering if people would be interested in continuing conversation on here after the debates :)

Yeah I wasn't going to have 10v10 debates. However I think I might try to get lawsoc speakers to be forced to take two questions from the crowd after each speech, and maybe have a Q and A at the end. We'd also reduce from 4v4 to 3v3.

Jesus get a sense of humour. It is just an ice breaker every September.

Well, if they miss out on contributing this year, they can say something next year ... or the year after that ... or the year after that.
