Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Retarded red card, never a sending off. Referee has ruined the game.

Hardly retarded. Reckless studs up challenges need to completely stamped out of the game. Perhaps a little harsh, but if he made proper contact it's a potential leg breaker, so you can see the ref's reasoning.

I dunno - studs showing, the intent was definitely there.

Lucky he didnt connect fully because if he had then that was a potential serious injury.

    Hey Mog,

Muniain - will he be showing his face.

    Sure hope so.

I was sure he'd get on in the 2nd half, he's appeared in all the games so far this season but now with only 10 men its hard to say.

Pity about the red card, you can see why the ref gave it but there wasn't a whole lot of contact. Hopefully Athletic will get in 0-0 at half time.

Have to say watching the first 20mins or so of this; the skill levels of both teams and atmosphere are far superior to the Premiership.

That goes without saying, the standard of football in Spain is far more technical and skillful than the Premiership.

Overran the ball and stretched into the tackle trying to get it back. No real intent imo and you'll see far far worse tackles getting yellow. Personally, it's a harsh one.

    1-0 Barca win methinks.

I see what you did there :P

Ahem, I thought he over streched for it on the wet pitch, certainly no intent.

Fact, all you have to do is look at Hercules and Real Sociedad who have just been promoted in there games against Barca and Real Madrid and you will know how much more skillful a league it is.

How have Barca not scored yet?!

Fantastic atmosphere at the match. I have found myself looking forward to watching La Liga at the weekends recently. The time their matches are on the television is great and the football is even better.

They have only had 5 attempts to be fair.

Madrid had over 20 by the end of their match earlier on.

Yellow card - yes, but red? No way.

I'll go with Armstrong and Paco.

The damage he was going to do had he connected fully.

I dunno what the deabate is - studs showing is always getting you a red card regardless of fully connecting (thank god he didnt) or not.

He didn't connect though and his studs were only up for a fraction of a second. Not fair to give a red for what might have been.

Connecting fully or not doesnt matter - if it did then the ref wouldnt have given a red. So just because he didnt damage the player seriously this time he should get away with it until he does injure someone ?

Shame Adriano had to come off, I really think he could do the business at left-back.

Have to say that Xavi has been quite disappointing so far this season, by his high standards.

At least two have been fairly clean cut attempts though!

    Agh, off the post too!

Maxwell has been brilliant so far this season playing left back too, i can't understand how Abidal still gets anywhere near that team. Adriano seems to deliver a very good final ball most times too.

Great chance for Athletic, the ball broke very kindly. Athletic playing well though...

    And Keita scores

    Keita (surprisingly) scores.

Some Jizz football going on out there.

    Good stop from the keeper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

Wish Pedro had taken that chance, if only so I wouldn't have to ever watch Bojan play in a Barca shirt again :)

Yep, the one touch passing at speed is a joy to watch and causes opposition defenders into errors.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,046 ✭✭✭eZe^

Do Alves or Pedro ever fcuking get tired?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

    Villa should have buried that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

This football is getting me hard.

Some brilliant touches and passes out there.

They're playing 10 men, so don't get too excited.

They're playing 10 men, so don't get too excited.

Also, one lapse in concentration and this ends up 1-1. So it's a dangerous game if Barca don't take their chances.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

Meh, we all know they can do this against anyone with 11 men to be honest.

    Let me enjoy my moment.

Game is far from over mind - only the one goal in it.

Too much jizz, erections, orgasms and man love in this thread!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

I think it's fairly clear that Guardiola got the hairdryer out after the Gijon performance, Barcelona going for the jugular.

    Goal, Xavi.

The one with the triangular-shaped chin fluff may have a goal in him yet.

Aye, he was pushed right up and getting stuck in in the opening mins - never saw that from him before to be honest.

One of the unthanked heroes - great buy from Sevilla ;)

Never seen this Thiago before, is he any good?

He only has a couple of appearances - Gimmick rates him as far as I know.

Looking at this performance, you have to wonder what is the point of having Mascherano in the team.

He's supposed to be good alright from what i've heard, he's been on the bench a few times this season too.

    Wow - Villa straight red

Cant put your hands in someones face - no complaints there.

    Stupidity.

Quality, look at his silky passing. So assured in possession.

FFS Villa. I know you're frustrated, no need for it though, that's him missing a few games now. :( Messi better be ready because a forward line of Iniesta---Bojan---Pedro is severely weakened.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

    Barca went to sleep there.

oh oh, Bilbao get a goal.

    Not over yet.

    Good stop from Valdes mind.
